Fundraising event: An Afternoon for the Animals

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Sunday, July 31 at 2:30 we’ll gather at the gorgeous Loews Atlanta Hotel to raise funds for Briarcliff Animal Foundation. There will be hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar with wine and beer. Our friend Dana will be there with Silpada jewelry for sale, as will Jake of Jake’s Ice Cream with frozen treats for pups and people! Portions of the proceeds from both will go to our Foundation.

Please help us care for the homeless and indigent companion animals of the Atlanta area!

Registration is $25 and can be done here:  www.firstgiving.com/bafinc/an-afternoon-for-the-animals.  100% of the registration fee will provide for the care of pets who have no home to call their own, and will help us find them homes.

We also have a Facebook event set up and we’d love for you to RSVP there:  https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=183843968338972

Char needs a new loving home *Update – Char has been adopted!

Saturday, June 18th, 2011
Char was found with some type of burn all the way down his back.  He is 13 weeks old.  We’ve repaired his wound, though he will likely have a scar.  In spite of his experience, he is extremely sweet and loves people!  He would make a wonderful pet.
All of our dogs come spayed/neutered, vaccinated (distemper/parvo, rabies, bordetella), heartworm and fecal tested, treated if heartworm positive, dewormed, treated for any other medical ailments, and kept on heartworm/flea preventative.

Maiya would love to be yours! *Update – Maiya found her new home!

Friday, June 17th, 2011

Maiya is an approximately 5 month old pit bull and/or boxer mix.  She has a very sweet demeanor and is great with people and other animals!  She was hit by a car and brought in to us.  Dr. Roper performed orthopedic surgery to fix her tibia and amputated part of her tail that was broken.  We do need to see her back on June 25th to retake x-rays to ensure her bones are healing properly.  Help us find a home for this sweet girl!  (Just look at those ears.)

Kittens, kittens everywhere! *Update – all the kittens have homes!

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

We have 9 kittens up for adoption!  Their names are Blackie, Ditto, Mouse, Beauty, Violet, Kelly, Stevie, Smalls and Petunia.  If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the time.  And remember, kittens like to have a friend, so why not bring two home?  That way they’ll have a playmate, and won’t need you to entertain them at all hours of the day.  If you have kids home for the summer, they can start learning about caring for a pet with the cutest, most fun kind of pet there is.  Bring one (or two!) home today!

Our cats and kittens come spayed/neutered, FELV/FIV tested (and negative, unless noted otherwise), up to date on age-appropriate vaccines (Rabies and FVRCP), fecal tested, dewormed, and treated for any other medical ailments.

This is Gold Kitty, an FIV+ kitty who needs a good home! He was found living in a cat colony, but wasn’t getting along with the others. He had an abscess on his face from fighting and was malnourished, and he wanted to make friends with the people living nearby. He is recovering well and getting his spirit back. His wound is healing and he has gained some weight. Now he just needs to find a loving home!
FIV is not a death sentence, and cats with the virus can lead long, happy lives. They need a bit of extra attention, but it’s worth it! Here is some information on FIV: http://www.bestfriends.org/theanimals/petcare/cats_fiv.cfm
If you have room in your heart for Gold Kitty, please message us here or give us a call at 404 835 1216.

**Update!  Gold Kitty is now named Joseph, and is living at the FurKids rescue organization.  He still needs a home!  Please contact us or Furkids to inquire about adopting this beautiful boy.
