Manolo Blahnik makes a donation to the Briarcliff Animal Foundation

Thursday, February 4th, 2010
After meeting Judy at a signing, Manolo Blahnik and his team made donation to the Briarcliff Animal Foundation. We would like to thank him and his team for their generosity. Here is an email from Geri Swanson to the Manolo Blahnik team…
Katie,
On behalf of the Briarcliff Animal Foundation, thank you for your kindness and generosity. Because of the support of your company and others, we are able to continue our work. Please let me know if the certificate meets your needs. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need any changes.
I thought Manolo Blahnik would be interested to know that Manolo (nicknamed “Manny”) will be on the Animal Planet in February on “It’s Me Or The Dog.” Although he is a pure bread poodle, his previous homeless life in the “hood’ left him with some behavioral issues! Judy, his new owner and Foundation Volunteer, took him to auditions for the show and he was selected! The show will air in February. Time magazine has been following Victoria Stilwell, the shows trainer and just interviewed Judy about Manny’s training transformation. Manny is becoming quite our little star!
With Warm Regards,

Think You May Be Able To Foster?

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

If you cannot adopt any of our adoptable pets or give monetary donations to Briarcliff Animal Foundation, but still want to help, please consider fostering. Fostering can be one of the most rewarding experiences. Briarcliff Animal Foundation will pay for food and any medical expenses, and all you have to do is treat this pet like it is part of your family until we find it a “forever” home. You may have this foster pet anywhere from a week to a couple of months, or even longer in some cases. For more information, please e-mail Lindsay at lhyatt@thebac.net or Richard at Rfischhof@thebac.net. Our goal is to get all of our adoptable pets out of the kennels and into foster homes until they find permanent homes. The pets who need foster homes are:

*Sprite (Sprite 2)

*Xavier (Xavier)

*Amber (Amber) NOT CURRENTLY UP FOR ADOPTION. PLEASE E-MAIL FOR MORE DETAILS.

*Harry (Harry) NOT CURRENTLY UP FOR ADOPTION. PLEASE E-MAIL FOR MORE DETAILS.

*Count and Duke (Count and Duke)

*Smokey (Smokey)

*Bella (Bella (Jane))

For more information about any of these pets, please look on our petfinder webpage.

Steps for becoming a foster parent:

  1. Contact Richard Fischhof (fish-off) at Briarcliff Animal Clinic (404-874-6393). You may also contact Michael Chapman at 404-378-1375.
  2. Set up a home inspection with Richard Fischhof or Michael Chapman.
  3. Meet the adoptable animals. (can be done before the home inspection)
  4. Choose an animal to foster.
  5. Take your foster pet home!
  6. Make sure that you exercise and socialize your foster pet.
  7. Enjoy your foster pet until we find it a permanent home!
