Adoptable pets!

Friday, November 4th, 2011

We have 4 adult dogs and many kittens available for adoption!  Since our space is limited, we would like to have homes for the dogs before Thanksgiving.  If you or anyone you know is looking for a companion, have them call us or stop by!  We’ll be happy to tell you all about our pets, and see if one would be right for you.

All our pets can be seen here: http://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelter_id=GA479&sort=identifier

Let’s get these guys a home for the holidays!

Penelope is up for adoption! *Update – Penelope has found a home!

Friday, August 5th, 2011

Penelope is an energetic Corgi mix, possibly part Jack Russell.  She was found and abandoned with us.  Penelope is a sweet girl, but very feisty.  She would probably do well with older children, but has too much energy for little ones.  We recommend she be a single pet, so she can have all your attention for herself!  If you have lots of energy and need an outlet, she’s the girl for you!

All of our dogs come spayed/neutered, vaccinated (distemper/parvo, rabies, bordetella), heartworm and fecal tested, treated if heartworm positive, dewormed, treated for any other medical ailments, and kept on heartworm/flea preventative.

Fundraising event: An Afternoon for the Animals

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Sunday, July 31 at 2:30 we’ll gather at the gorgeous Loews Atlanta Hotel to raise funds for Briarcliff Animal Foundation. There will be hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar with wine and beer. Our friend Dana will be there with Silpada jewelry for sale, as will Jake of Jake’s Ice Cream with frozen treats for pups and people! Portions of the proceeds from both will go to our Foundation.

Please help us care for the homeless and indigent companion animals of the Atlanta area!

Registration is $25 and can be done here:  www.firstgiving.com/bafinc/an-afternoon-for-the-animals.  100% of the registration fee will provide for the care of pets who have no home to call their own, and will help us find them homes.

We also have a Facebook event set up and we’d love for you to RSVP there:  https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=183843968338972

Shaka is looking for his forever home! *Update – Shake has found his forever home!

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011
This is Shaka, a 5 or 6 month old dog who was found in March.  He has a very sweet demeanor around dogs, cats, and people.  Shaka had scabies when he arrived and it was successfully treated.  He has already been neutered and is ready to go at any time.

Welcome to Briarcliff Animal Foundation!

Monday, November 17th, 2008

bafsmall-header5We work hard to care for animals in need and appreciate your help and assistance in this endeavor.

It is surprising, the number of animals who suffer abuse, starvation, neglect and general maladies from life in the wild or on the streets.  The numbers are staggering at times, and we are working to alleviate some of the pain and suffering that occurs on a daily basis in the Southeastern USA, and in particular in Atlanta, where we, and most of our patients live.

We are an IRS designated 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, so your donations can be written off.  We welcome them all, from $5.00 to $5,000, as all funding will be put to good use.  We are experiencing a minor crisis financially in 2008, because of an influx of abuse and neglect animals from Fulton County Animal Services, and the apparent closing of an apartment complex that left many animals with gunshot wounds, scaldings, and abandoned.  We are well beyond comfortable capacity to care for them at the moment, and need your help.

Please, if you can, donate and participate in the care of our four legged people, as how we care for them, reflects who we truly are as humans.

Thank you for taking the time to visit us, and we look forward to your input and participation.
