Briarcliff Animal Clinic is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! We have an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian on duty at all times to see patients on a walk-in triage basis. In addition to our ER service, we have a staff of veterinarians who see patients by appointment 7 days a week!
If your pet is ever in need of emergency care, no need to call- just get to our clinic as soon as possible! If you are able to call ahead, it is often helpful for us to be prepared for your arrival.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you arrive for Emergency Service, our receptionists will take your pet back to our hospital area for triage, and begin the check-in process with you. During triage, our technicians will measure your pet’s vital signs and a veterinarian will determine whether your pet is critical enough to require immediate care, or stable enough to wait with you until the veterinarian sees you. Emergency service often receives several patients at a time, so our veterinarians must use this triage system to determine which patients should be seen first, second, and so on.
Once your pet has been triaged, our receptionists will help keep you as comfortable and as possible, keep you updated on approximate wait times, and will take you to an exam room as soon as possible. After your veterinarian has examined your pet, we will provide a recommended treatment plan and estimated cost, and gain your authorization before starting treatment. If you have any concerns with your pet’s treatment plan or cost, let us know as soon as possible, so that we may modify our plan accordingly before proceeding with treatment.
