To remind pet owners of the importance of microchipping and keeping chip registration info current, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) joined forces to create Check the Chip Day!
We urge all pet owners to always microchip your pets, even if they live indoors. We also want to remind owners that microchips only work if they are registered with current contact information! To update your pet’s registration info, you need their microchip number. If you don’t know their chip number, we can scan your pet to find out! We also recommend scans every year or so to make sure the chip is still scanning properly. Click here for more information from AVMA about Check the Chip Day.
In celebration of Check the Chip Day, Briarcliff Animal Clinic at Emory/Morningside will be offering $30 microchip placement to our patients, and free microchip scans for all- only on Monday, August 15th! See below for details:
Current Patients: Existing patients may come for microchip placement or a microchip scan without an appointment, but please schedule an appointment if you would like to see the doctor for any other services while you’re here!
New Clients/Patients: New clients, or existing clients with first-time patients, must schedule an appointment with a doctor for microchip placement. For microchip scans only, anyone is welcome!
